My Story
Hi, I’m Emma. I’ve always been drawn to challenges that push the limits of mind and body. Growing up in the North East and Yorkshire, I discovered endurance early through long-distance equestrian sport, competing nationally throughout my teens and twenties. That drive for adventure took me across Europe working with horses before I returned to the UK to retrain in bid and tender management.
I built a successful career, and in 2024 launched my own business, the outcome of which has exceeded my wildest expectations. Away from work, I’ve stayed true to my adventurous streak as a frequent traveller, multi-day hiker, and weight lifter.
After a long and difficult period with my mental health, I knew I needed a challenge that would demand everything of me while giving back to others. The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race offered exactly that — and being part of the UNICEF boat crew means every mile I sail raises awareness and funds for children in need worldwide.
For me, this race isn’t just about crossing oceans. It’s about showing what’s possible when you refuse to be defined by struggle, and inviting others to come on that journey with me, every step of the way.
